Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about running anonymous, structured feedback with your team.
Getting started
What is Team Perspective?
Team Perspective is a tool for collecting structured, anonymous feedback from everyone on your team. A manager runs a “perspective” — a focused set of questions — and gets a clear summary of how the team is really doing.
Who is it for?
Any team with more than ten members — sports, work, or otherwise. Organisations with one team or many can use it. We specify more than ten members to reduce the chance of linking answers to team members.
How do I get access for my team?
Click “Get access” and tell us your name, email, team name and a short description. An admin reviews your request, and once it's approved you'll get an email letting you know your manager account is ready to log in to.
Who are the admins?
Admins are the Team Perspective administrators who run the platform, and they aren't part of your team's management. They approve requests for manager accounts, look after the question bank and platform settings, and can help teams set up their perspectives. Like managers, they see who has responded and the aggregated results, but never who said what.
How much does it cost?
Access and use is currently cost free while we are trialling our beta version of the Team Perspective platform. While we are in beta and trialling different types of teams, this won't change. You can apply to be part of the beta version trial via the “Get access” page.
I've been invited by a manager. How do I join?
Use the link in your invitation email. If you can't find it, go to the “Get access” page and enter your email under “Already invited by a manager?” to find any pending invitations.
I never got my invitation. What now?
Check your spam folder first. If it isn't there, go to the “Get access” page and enter your email under “Already invited by a manager?” to find any pending invitations. Your manager can also resend the invitation, or copy the invitation link and send it to you directly.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Team Perspective runs in your web browser, and members log in with their email address.
What emails will I get?
An invitation when a manager adds you, an email when a perspective is ready for you to complete, an email if its details change while it's open, and a nudge if you haven't logged in yet. Reminders are never sent automatically. You'll only get one if a manager chooses to send it.
Anonymity and privacy
Are responses really anonymous?
Yes. Answers are stored without your name attached, and managers and admins never see who said what. They can see whether you've completed a perspective, so they know who to remind, but never what you answered.
What can my manager see?
While a perspective is open, only progress: how many people have responded and who hasn't yet. Answer content stays hidden until the perspective closes. Even then, results are aggregated — averages, breakdowns of choices, and written comments with no names attached.
Can other leaders see progress or results?
Admins choose which team roles can see progress and results, for example team managers and organizational leaders but not team members. Anyone with access sees the same thing: who has responded while a perspective is open, and aggregated results once it closes. Nobody sees individual answers.
Can a very small team still be anonymous?
Small groups make answers easy to guess, so Team Perspective sets a minimum number of people a perspective can be sent to. If the roles you've selected cover fewer people than that, you'll be asked to include more roles or wait until your team grows.
Can I see my own answers afterwards?
Yes. Once you've submitted a perspective you can look back at your own answers. Only you can see them in the app. Submissions are final, so you can't change them afterwards.
What information do you collect?
We collect what's needed to run your team's perspectives: your name and email address, the team you belong to and your role, when you last logged in, and your answers. If you request access for a team we also ask for your team's name and description and, optionally, a phone number. We use one cookie, to keep you logged in, and no advertising or analytics trackers.
Who can see my information?
Managers can see their team's members (names, emails, roles and login status) and who has completed each perspective. Admins can see the same across every team. Nobody sees individual answers, only aggregated results once a perspective closes. We use an email service to send invitations and reminders, so it receives your name, email address and team name for that purpose.
Do you sell or share my data?
No. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising, and we only share it with the service providers we need to run the platform, such as email delivery.
Where is my data stored?
Your team's data is stored in Ireland.
How long do you keep my data?
Your data is kept while your team is using the platform. All personal data can be erased on request.
Can I ask for my data to be deleted?
Yes. Email support@teamperspective.ie, or ask your team manager to pass on the request, and an admin will erase your account. That removes your account and every record that holds your name or email address: team memberships, invitations, access requests, mailing list entries, your record of completing perspectives and your personal copy of your answers. Answers submitted to a perspective are anonymous and can't be traced back to you, so they stay in your team's overall results. Anything you created, such as a team or a perspective, stays but no longer names you. A team can also be erased entirely, along with all of its perspectives and results.
Running a perspective
How do I choose the questions?
Pick from a curated question bank, or write your own. Questions you write are saved so you can reuse them on future perspectives. Formats include 1–5 ratings, 0–10 scores, yes/no, multiple choice, checkboxes, ranking, sliders, custom-labelled scales, splitting points between options, and open-ended text. For each question you also decide whether people can leave it blank.
Can I use the same questions again?
Yes. Create a new perspective and pick the same questions from the question bank, or reuse questions you wrote yourself. Results are shown one perspective at a time, so keeping the questions the same lets you compare them yourself.
Who can create a perspective?
Only roles an admin has given permission to create perspectives, which is usually the team's manager. Admins can create perspectives for any team.
Can I choose who gets asked?
Yes. For each perspective you choose which team roles are asked to respond, for example team members only, or team members and organizational leaders.
Can I change a perspective after I've created it?
You can edit it freely until the first response comes in. Once someone has responded it's locked, so everyone's answers stay comparable. When you finalise a perspective, your team is emailed to let them know it's ready.
How do reminders work?
While a perspective is open you can email a reminder to everyone who hasn't responded yet, or to one person at a time from the progress view.
How long does it take to respond?
Usually just a few minutes. The invitation email gives an estimate based on the questions in that perspective.
Do I have to answer every question?
It depends on the perspective. Whoever creates it decides, question by question, whether a response is required. Optional questions are marked “(optional)” and can be left blank, and if you change your mind about an optional answer you can use “Clear answer”.
What if I miss the deadline?
Once a perspective closes it can't be answered, and it can't be reopened. Your dashboard shows how much time is left on anything that's open. If you missed one, ask your manager whether they can run another.
When do I see the results?
When the perspective closes. If everyone has already responded, you can choose “End perspective” to close it early and see the results straight away.
Teams and members
How do I add my team members?
Invite people one at a time by email, or upload an Excel file to add up to 50 people at once. Each person gets an invitation email, and you can see who hasn't logged in yet and send them a reminder.
Can I manage more than one team?
Yes. Managers can add and run several teams from a single dashboard.
Can someone be on more than one team?
Yes. One login works across every team a person belongs to.
